Stickers: Vinyl vs. BOPP

Customized stickers and labels are great versatile, multi-purpose tools! Whether you want to use them for branding, packaging, marketing or just around your home, these tools are great for adding flare to any surface.

When picking stickers or labels, the two most versatile materials are white removable vinyl and BOPP (bi-axially oriented polypropylene). However, what are these materials and what would be the best material for your needs?

White Removable Vinyl

White removable vinyl is water resistant and dishwasher safe. It also is fridge and freezer safe (when applied at minimum10°C/50°F). This material has a strong adhesive, is made of a thick material and can adhere to curved surfaces. Vinyl can also be removed easily without leaving a sticky residue or adhesive. Because of this, vinyl is suited for outdoor usage, jar labels, bumper stickers, window stickers, marketing materials and sports equipment.

White BOPP

White BOPP is also water resistant, but not dishwasher safe. However, it is also fridge and freezer safe (when applied at minimum10°C/50°F). It is made of a slightly thinner material than white vinyl. Because it has a permanent adhesive, it can not be easily removed from surfaces. Also, while BOPP is extremely durable, it does not hold up against sun/UV rays, so it is best used for indoor purposes. BOPP is a great choice for product packaging, oil/chemical products, beauty products, industrial machinery, waste bins, and other permanent indoor uses.
