Street View FAQ

Back to Google Street View
How can Google Street View help my business?
When potential customers search for your business by name on Google, they will see the images displayed directly on the search results page. These images will also be published on Google+ Local pages, Google Maps and other Google properties. They’ll give customers a good sense of your layout, decor and an overall impression of your location’s interior. You can also embed these images onto your own site, attracting potential customers who visit your website.
Why are businesses being photographed, and how will the pictures be displayed?
Google Trusted Photographers are taking high-quality photographs that get stitched into 360-degree views using panoramic camera technology. You’ll be able to see the photos and 360-degree panoramic imagery directly on Google search results and on your Google+ Local page.
What will a Trusted Photographer do that I can't do on my own?
Google Trusted Photographers are trained to take high quality photos of building interiors, accommodating for common challenges such as poor lighting and tight spaces. These photographers will take pictures using fisheye lenses and rotating camera turrets mounted on tripods that, once uploaded to Google’s processing pipelines, will be transformed into 360-degree panoramic imagery and a walk through of your business.
How can I coordinate a photo shoot?
Just give our office a call at (716) 632-7200 or fill out our request form and we’ll get back to you about scheduling a photo session.
How long do the photo shoots typically take?
In most cases, the photo shoot will take about an hour, but this can vary depending on the size of your location.
What should I do to prepare my business for the photo shoot?
It’s a good idea to tidy things up prior to the photography session, but the aim of the photographs is to show customers what they would expect to see if they visited your business on a normal day.
Will people appear in the photo shoot?
Because the focus should be kept on your business, we aim to keep as few people as possible in the shots. During the shoot, photographers might put up a sign and alert customers and employees about to be photographed.
Can these images be embedded on my website?
Yes, we encourage you to share your walk-through experience of your location with your customers on your website.
